Why did you choose this book?
I chose this book because it is very basic and not too wordy. It presents several different places about town that I could essentially use for a lesson.

Level 1 Standard 2:
“Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics. (Interpretive)”
Objective (s):
To teach new vocabulary.
Materials:
Poster, children’s book, “flash cards”
Intended Learning Outcomes: (same as objectives)
Learn new vocabulary and develop better listening and comprehending skills.
Instructional Procedures:
Read the book to the class, hold up the flash cards, have each student use one of the new vocabulary words in a sentence, play the game.
Family Connections: (take home activity)
Crossword puzzle of new terms.
Assessment Plan: (how do you plan to assess whether or not students gained the skill/concept?) Game at the end of lesson; test at the end of the textbook chapter.
